Widget Options version 5.1.6 introduced a new user interface. The Extended Taxonomy Terms and the Target URL Tab are now under the Pages Visibility. Below are step-by-step guides on how to enable these custom post types.
Step 1: Update the Widget Options Plugin, ensure you have Widget Options version 5.1.6 or later installed on your WordPress website. If not, navigate to the Plugins section in your WordPress dashboard, search for Widget Options, and click “Update” to the new version available.
Step 2: Once you’ve updated the plugin, access Widget Options Settings. Go to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Settings > Widgets Options. Here, you’ll see the Pages Visibility.
Step 3: To enable the Extended Taxonomy Terms and Target URL Tab, click Configure Settings under the Pages Visibility (Pages Visibity > Configure settings). There, you can enable the Extended Taxonomy Terms, choose what taxonomies you want to be visible on your posts and pages and enable Target URL.
Step 4: Save Changes: After configuring your desired visibility settings click the “Save Settings” button in the lower left corner to apply your configurations.
Step 5: Leverage the feature: You may now customize your blocks or widgets visibility depending on its taxonomy or URL. With the improved Extended Taxonomy feature, you can precisely control whether you want to display a post in Archive format, as a Single post, or both. Simply head to your WordPress dashboard, then navigate to Appearance > Widgets to explore and implement these advanced customization options.
