There’s a word on the street that blocks will be the new widgets. Since Widget Options is the most complete widget management plugin for WordPress, is should provide support for these new widgets 😉
I’ve been playing around with the Gutenberg editor and it’s really good; writing is better and seamless. I’ve tried the core blocks and coded custom blocks to try the API’s out. And yes, it’s pretty similar to widget in the sense that you have separate setting for each block.
To make your workflow better and give you additional options available on all blocks, thus give you more freedom handling every block, Widget Options will be integrated seamlessly with Gutenberg. You’ll experience the same as it’s been integrated with widgets; like it seems part of the core. Below is the video preview of the integration.
Planned Features for Gutenberg Editor
As you can see on the video there’s the Device Visibility Options and Display Logic available similar to Widget Options free features. There will be more features available and I’m currently developing them. Of course, the Extended Widget Options features are also planned to be integrated with Gutenberg.
I’m actually pretty excited with the integration and will make sure that you’ll have better block handling and writing experience with Gutenberg.
Are you using Widget Options?
That’s my question for you and if not, why? It’s probably a perfect time for me to pitch it.
Widget Options Plugin will let you manage your widgets better from the admin area — for you to save time and improve your workflow — to visibility restrictions on the front-end. You can watch the video below to check how it works.
Using Pagebuilders and not much of a widget lover?
If you are using WordPress page builder plugins, Widget Options may also be a great additional tool for you. Here are the page builders supported with the link to the features and preview :
That’s all for now. I’m planning to create post updates with the Gutenberg support, and if you are interested please do use the comment form below. You can post your recommendations or just say hi. Subscribing to the newsletter will also be great for you to get the news via email.
